KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop and deploy features for the KiaKia SLR platform on CaaS (Kubernetes/Rancher), following Scrum sprint commitments and Quarterly PI planning cycles.
• Maintain and extend LaserAI-powered ML/AI pipelines for automated literature review — includes model integration, pipeline monitoring and output validation. Full KT from outgoing FTCs during onboarding.
• Own PostgreSQL database management: schema design, query optimisation, migrations, performance tuning and connection pool configuration.
• Maintain and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines: build automation, test integration, deployment workflows and release management.
• Monitor application health using Grafana dashboards: configure data sources, alerting rules, panels and SLA-linked performance views.
• Manage and troubleshoot workloads on RedHat Linux / CaaS: container lifecycle, log analysis, resource limits and service restarts.
• Design and implement RESTful microservice APIs connecting the SLR UI, AI/ML processing layer and PostgreSQL data layer.
• Participate in Jira-based sprint planning, CR estimation, code reviews and sprint retrospectives.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation covering architecture decisions, API contracts, deployment runbooks and KT materials.
• Collaborate with the BA (backlog), QA (test cycles), Scrum Master and 30 transferable FTC teammates to deliver the 334-CR annual change workload.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must Have (non-negotiable for day-1 effectiveness):

• CaaS / Kubernetes / Rancher — KiaKia runs entirely on container platform. Deploy, configure and troubleshoot containerised workloads on Kubernetes/Rancher clusters.
• PostgreSQL — primary database. Schema design, query optimisation, migrations and connection pool management.
• Python (ML / AI) — LaserAI is built on Python. Develop, maintain and extend ML/AI-driven literature analysis pipelines. Libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn strongly preferred.
• LaserAI — AI/ML library powering automated SLRs. Candidates are not expected to have prior exposure; strong Python ML background is the entry point. Full KT delivered by outgoing FTCs during onboarding.
• GitLab CI/CD — all KiaKia build, test and deployment pipelines run on GitLab. Own pipeline maintenance, merge request reviews and release automation.
• RedHat Linux — underlying OS for CaaS nodes. RHEL administration, service management, log analysis and shell scripting.

Strong (expected within first sprint):

• Grafana — configure monitoring panels, data sources and alerting rules for KiaKia application health.
• REST API / Microservices — design and implement RESTful APIs connecting the SLR UI, AI/ML and data layers.

Good to Have (advantageous; learnable on the job):

• Java or Go (secondary backend language — confirmed after KT with outgoing FTCs)
• Jira / Agile tooling — all CRs managed in Jira; sprint planning and PI participation
• Docker / containerisation — image builds and local dev environment
• SQL Server / MySQL awareness for integration with adjacent MAPS apps

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 3–5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years on containerised platforms (Kubernetes preferred).
• Demonstrated Python development with ML/AI libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn or similar).
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience: schema design, query writing, index management, performance troubleshooting.
• Practical CI/CD experience on GitLab (or GitHub Actions / Jenkins — GitLab preferred).
• Linux administration experience (RedHat / CentOS / Ubuntu) — comfortable with command line, service management and log analysis.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience — sprint planning, retrospectives, story point estimation.
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences or regulated industry experience is advantageous, not mandatory.
