Florida OMFS is looking for a Temporary Sterile Technician to join our team! If you’re pursuing a career in healthcare and need clinical hours or hands-on experience, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced oral surgery environment.

Our Sterile Technicians play an essential role in supporting our clinical team and ensuring our offices are clean, organized, safe, and prepared to provide exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do

As a Sterile Technician, you will work closely with our clinical and office teams to ensure instruments, equipment, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, sterilized, stocked, and ready for patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Clean and decontaminate dental instruments, supplies, equipment, and instrument trays according to established procedures and standard precautions.
• Properly clean and sterilize dental instruments, ensuring all organic and inorganic material is removed before sterilization.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment according to established guidelines.
• Perform routine testing and daily/monthly maintenance of sterilization equipment.
• Maintain and clean handpieces, handpiece motors, suction systems, traps, and other clinical equipment.
• Maintain accurate sterilization and equipment records.
• Monitor inventory and restock instruments and supplies as needed.
• Ensure operatories and designated sterilization areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Verify that instruments, supplies, and equipment are in good working order and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Follow OSHA requirements and maintain safe, effective infection-control and workplace practices.
• Immediately report unsafe equipment, conditions, or procedures to the appropriate leader.
• Assist the clinical team with other duties as needed.
