PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $199,300.00-$243,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $155,200.00 - $288,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

 

As the Director, Forecasting & Planning, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping BECU's future by helping leaders make informed, data-driven decisions that support growth, financial strength, operational excellence, and exceptional member experiences. You'll bring together financial and operational insights, translating complex business drivers into clear forecasts, strategic plans, and actionable recommendations that guide the organization forward.

 

In this highly visible leadership role, you'll partner with senior leaders across Finance, Enterprise Strategy, Product, Marketing, Operations, Technology, Treasury, Risk, and other key teams to align resources, priorities, and opportunities with BECU's strategic objectives. Your expertise will help identify emerging trends, anticipate risks, uncover opportunities, and create a forward-looking view of organizational performance.

 

You'll also build and lead a high-performing forecasting and planning team, establishing scalable planning practices, governance frameworks, and executive reporting capabilities that connect business decisions to meaningful outcomes. Your work will directly influence how BECU plans, invests, grows, and delivers value to our members.

 

To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, CA, AZ, TX, NC, SC, GA, or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.  For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

• Shape the Planning Strategy: Develop and lead the vision, operating model, roadmap, planning calendar, standards, and governance framework for forecasting and planning activities, ensuring alignment with enterprise planning processes and divisional priorities.
• Drive Integrated Forecasting: Lead comprehensive forecasts and multi-year plans across key financial and operational drivers, including membership growth, product volumes, balances, revenue, expenses, profitability, capacity, and other critical business measures.
• Lead and Develop Talent: Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, mentoring, and development opportunities that empower team members to grow, succeed, and achieve their full potential.
• Establish Forecast Assumptions: Define, document, validate, and align assumptions, business drivers, performance targets, and planning scenarios to ensure consistency and accuracy across forecasts.
• Build Strategic Models: Create driver-based forecasting models and scenario analyses that evaluate the impact of market conditions, member behavior, pricing strategies, product decisions, operational changes, and strategic initiatives.
• Deliver Executive Insights: Provide senior leaders with concise, decision-ready insights regarding forecast trends, performance variances, opportunities, risks, dependencies, and recommended actions.
• Lead Planning Cycles: Manage recurring forecasting, annual planning, and reforecasting activities by coordinating timelines, stakeholder input, quality reviews, approvals, and deliverables across a highly matrixed organization.
• Connect Strategy to Outcomes: Align strategic priorities, product roadmaps, marketing initiatives, workforce planning, capacity planning, and investment decisions with expected financial and member outcomes.
• Create Performance Visibility: Establish and maintain performance measurement frameworks, executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide meaningful visibility into organizational performance and future outlooks.
• Partner Across the Enterprise: Collaborate closely with Finance and other business partners to support budgeting, financial projections, business cases, initiative valuation, expense management, leadership reporting, and enterprise forecast alignment.
• Advance Analytics Capabilities: Partner with Data and Business Intelligence teams to enhance data quality, reporting automation, self-service analytics, forecasting models, and planning effectiveness.
• Facilitate Business Alignment: Lead cross-functional planning discussions and decision-making forums that surface tradeoffs, encourage healthy debate, and drive alignment around priorities, resources, assumptions, and actions.
• Continuously Improve Processes: Strengthen forecasting methods, planning tools, governance controls, and business processes through automation, standardization, variance analysis, back-testing, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Strengthen Risk Awareness: Ensure forecasting and planning activities appropriately identify, monitor, assess, and communicate business, financial, operational, compliance, and execution risks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Influence at the Executive Level: Develop executive and Board-ready presentations that transform complex information into compelling narratives, strategic implications, options, and recommendations.
• Support Organizational Success: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned while contributing to enterprise-wide goals and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, statistics, analytics, or related discipline, or equivalent work or educational experience.
• 8 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, business forecasting, strategic planning, analytics, portfolio management, or related disciplines.
• 5 years of people leader experience.
• Experience forecasting, planning, or analyzing consumer lending portfolios within the financial services industry.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree.
• Knowledge of financial institution economics, products, regulatory expectations, and risk management practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional forecasting, annual planning, and performance management processes.
• Advanced knowledge of driver-based forecasting, financial modeling, scenario planning, variance analysis, business cases, and performance measurement.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize financial, product, operational, member, market, and competitive data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Experience partnering with senior executives and presenting complex concepts, tradeoffs, and recommendations in concise, decision-ready form.
• Ability to influence and gain alignment across technical, financial, product, operational, and highly matrixed teams.
• Experience developing dashboards and management reporting; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with enterprise planning, business intelligence, and visualization platforms.
• Excellent leadership, facilitation, communication, writing, organization, and change management skills.
