Description
Our client is a well-established National industry leader of mechanical and air conditioning services to the commercial and construction sectors. This is a professional and stable business boasting over 50 years of successful operation.
As the company continues to expand, they are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong knowledge of the industry to join their team.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will carry out mechanical/electrical engineering checks and designs, providing technical assistance to the mechanical engineering team, project managers and draftspeople, while helping to develop and mentor graduate engineers. You will work closely with the mechanical engineering team, project managers and site foremen across a broad range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical/electrical engineering for allocated projects.
- Liaise with mechanical/electrical subcontractors and review documentation prior to submission.
- Prepare and review detailed designs for Design and Construct (D&C) work, ensuring designs are practical and compliant with relevant codes and standards.
- Design and review LV distribution networks and switchgear selections.
- Assess new projects and identify value-added engineering solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to Project Managers, BIM Modellers and Site Foremen.
- Attend project design meetings and assist with safety in design.
- Assist developing metering solutions for both revenue and consumption analysis.
- Assist with Greenstar and NABERS requirements on applicable projects.
- Mentor and support graduate engineers.
The Candidate
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- Electrical degree or diploma; RPEQ/CPEng status desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, with personnel both within and external to our company.
- Self-motivation and commitment to continued company improvement.
- Good work ethic, positive outlook and a proactive approach to a changing environment.
- An experienced qualified electrician with 10 years’ experience and post-trade qualifications looking to progress their career would also be considered for the role.
- Australian resident or hold valid Australian working rights.
