Description
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, component replacement and repair across a range of electrical systems and equipment.
- Performing electrical testing, including insulation resistance and continuity testing, in line with safe isolation and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Investigating and troubleshooting electrical and control-related faults using diagnostic tools, technical drawings and service documentation.
- Supporting and leading projects, including the commissioning of new installations.
- Acting as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and management of expectations.
- Supporting the delivery of design, engineering and infrastructure projects across the business.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and project records through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 8th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification or equivalent.
- Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391/2392 or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Service Engineer within commercial and industrial environments.
- Minimum of five years' experience working on design, engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge and experience of procurement processes, tender documentation and Conditions of Contract.
- Understanding of project and asset management processes.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Experience leading electrical infrastructure projects.
- Recognised qualifications in project and/or asset management practices.
- Good understanding of business operations and the commercial impact of technical and professional decisions on organisational performance.
