Electrical Engineer

Maschmeyer Concrete (Redwing Materials LLC) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to  lead the Electrical and Instrumentation. The Electrical Engineer will support the electrical construction, testing, commissioning, and startup of a new state-of-the-art slag grinding plant in Gibsonton, Florida. This position will oversee installation and commissioning of all electrical systems from incoming utility power through plant distribution, instrumentation, and process controls.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage installation of high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.

· Coordinate electrical contractors and equipment suppliers.

· Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and control schematics.

· Oversee installation of substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, grounding, and instrumentation.

· Coordinate electrical testing including insulation resistance, relay protection, cable testing, and energization.

· Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and automation integration.

· Assist with loop checks, equipment commissioning, and startup activities.

· Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues.

· Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, MSHA, and applicable electrical standards.

· Develop electrical maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

· Minimum five (5) years of industrial manufacturing or heavy construction experience.

· Experience with power distribution systems from 480V through medium-voltage applications.

· Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial automation.

· Strong troubleshooting and project coordination skills.

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

· Cement plants, mining, heavy industrial facilities, or bulk material handling.

· Commissioning and startup experience.

· OSHA 30 and MSHA training preferred.
