Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within Information Technology Division in Hong Kong, the IT Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department, ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous enhancement of the hotel's technology infrastructure and systems. The role supports operational excellence across all departments, oversees IT projects and team development, and acts as a key technology partner to the business. The IT Manager reports to the Cluster Director of IT.
As IT Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Lead the daily operations of the Information Technology Department, ensuring the efficient delivery of all IT services across the hotel
Oversee the administration, maintenance, security, and enhancement of the hotel's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, telecommunications, and business applications
Manage IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and technology initiatives, assuming additional responsibilities during the absence of the Cluster Director of IT
Monitor system performance, network availability, and cybersecurity measures to ensure a stable and secure technology environment
Provide technical leadership and support for infrastructure, network, telephony, hardware, software, and end-user services
Oversee troubleshooting, system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes to minimize operational disruption
Lead and develop the IT team, ensuring effective performance, engagement, and continuous professional development
Collaborate closely with Department Heads and hotel leadership to identify business needs and implement effective technology solutions
Manage escalated IT issues and ensure timely resolution of service requests while maintaining high levels of user satisfaction
Maintain IT policies, procedures, documentation, and operational standards in compliance with Group IT requirements and industry best practices
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, data privacy regulations, information security standards, and other applicable legal requirements
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective support and service delivery
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that support operational efficiency and the guest experience
As IT Manager, we expect from you:
Degree holder in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; hospitality industry experience is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network administration, cybersecurity, servers, telecommunications, cloud technologies, and enterprise applications
Proven experience in managing IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and technology support operations
Sound understanding of backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and information security best practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience in vendor management, contract administration, and service delivery oversight
Knowledge of software licensing, data privacy regulations, and IT governance principles
Professional certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, Security+, or equivalent certifications will be an advantage
Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua would be an advantage
