The vacancy is in the Department of Human Resources. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of responsible, complex, and confidential executive duties in support of the Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Responsible for the coordination of all executive level communications including taking phone calls, responding to emails and interacting with, but not limited to, constituents, current and retired employees and other officials. Maintains and manages the schedules and travel for the Director. Assist in the preparation of internal and external documents on behalf of the executive level management. May assist with special projects including large scale file scanning and maintaining and updating divisional standard operating procedures. Performs related work as required. This role requires a blend of exceptional organizational skills, high-level administrative expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of our HR operations.
This is an unclassified position. Incumbents are appointed and serve at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority in accordance with Chapters IV and V of the City Charter. The hours of this position are 40 per week and the salary includes 5% in lieu of overtime.

Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, political science, economics or closely related field AND One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in a business organization or the public service.
Full-time administrative experience in the required area may be substituted for the above educational requirement on the basis of the following: one year of administrative experience is equal to one year of college.
