Title and Summary
Director, Financial Planning & AnalysisPosition SummaryThe Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as a strategic finance leader and trusted advisor to senior leaders across Mastercard’s North America business. This role will provide financial insight, decision support, and disciplined performance management to help drive growth, improve predictability, and deliver against financial commitments.
The Director will lead core FP&A rhythms and executive deliverables, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, target setting, management reporting, QOR materials, INER analysis, ad-hoc presentations, and related management actions. The role will partner across business, regional, corporate finance, controllership, and global FP&A teams to ensure transparency, accountability, governance, and alignment with Mastercard priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, strategic planning, and target-setting in support of North America priorities and enterprise financial objectives.
• Own executive-level performance reporting, including QOR materials, variance commentary, KPI insights, and recommendations to improve revenue, profitability, efficiency, and growth.
• Analyze INER performance, trends, and drivers, and partner with business and finance leaders to define, track, and execute management actions.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, business cases, and sensitivity assessments to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and growth opportunities.
• Identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate complex financial information into clear insights and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Drive ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and executive presentations that support decision-making, performance optimization, and execution of strategic priorities.
• Partner with business development, regional teams, controllership, corporate FP&A, and global finance stakeholders to strengthen business outcomes and financial accountability.
• Maintain a strong control environment through disciplined governance, policy compliance, SOX awareness, reporting integrity, risk management, and audit support.
• Champion AI adoption across NAM Finance by identifying practical use cases, embedding AI-enabled tools into FP&A workflows, and improving productivity, analytics, and decision support.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Serve as a trusted partner to senior management, bringing financial expertise, commercial judgment, and enterprise perspective to strategic and tactical decisions.
• Build strong relationships across functions and geographies, influencing stakeholders through clear communication, analytical rigor, and executive presence.
• Lead and develop finance talent through coaching, mentoring, capability building, succession planning, and exposure to strategic projects.
• Foster a high-performing culture grounded in accountability, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.
All About You
• Experience leading FP&A, forecasting, performance management, and decision support in a complex, matrixed, growth-oriented organization.
• Strong business partnership skills with the ability to connect financial insights to business strategy and influence senior stakeholders.
• Advanced capability in financial modeling, scenario planning, variance analysis, KPI management, QOR preparation, and executive storytelling.
• Strong ownership, judgment, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, with comfort operating in ambiguity and balancing competing priorities.
• Experience with enterprise finance systems such as Oracle and Hyperion; experience with reporting tools, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled productivity tools preferred.
• Significant finance experience required; payments, technology, financial services, or global matrixed experience preferred.
