POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager will oversee the organization and execution of the facility's sports and non-sports programs, including leagues, tournaments, after-school programs, and any other programs held. This position will also be responsible for the overall operational readiness, event execution, and day-to-day management of stadium facilities, including seating areas, concourses, locker rooms, press areas, scoreboards, and related infrastructure. The Manager will collaborate closely with the individual leaders of each program as well as other internal departments (Operations, Marketing, etc.) to successfully accomplish these responsibilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Oversee stadium setup, conversion, and teardown for games, tournaments, concerts, and special events; ensure all areas meet operational and safety standards.
- Manage and supervise stadium operations staff, including event staff, ushers, security coordination, and cleaning crews during events.
- Coordinate pre- and post-event communications and logistics with event owners, teams, and internal departments (sales, marketing, food & beverage, maintenance).
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, security, ADA, fire code, and facility policies; conduct pre-event walkthroughs and give final operational approval for setups.
- Develop and manage stadium-related operating budgets; control expenses related to labor, supplies, equipment, and event production.
- Support in hiring process, training and developing direct reports
- Oversee inventory control for stadium equipment, furniture, signage, and event supplies.
- Coordinate vendor contracts and relationships for stadium-specific services (AV, seating, temporary structures, specialty equipment).
- Analyze event performance metrics and prepare post-event reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for stadium events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work closely with the Operations Director and other managers to support overall facility operations and cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform all other duties assigned by leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field with 3-5 years appropriate experience required
- Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
- Must have proven history creating event timelines, to include event opening and closing protocols in line with professional soccer guidelines
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
