Job Title: Medical Assistant

- Part-Time
- Our office is open from Monday-Friday 6am-4pm
- You will typically work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:45am-3pm (24 hours per week), but this schedule may vary as needed
- You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed
SUMMARY
Serves as support personnel, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), in accordance with established regulations for the practice of Medical Assistant/Tech, Federal, State, and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in direct patient care and maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment.
- Perform duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their certification.
- Maintain medical records in an accurate and legible manner.
- Stock inventory, clean stretchers and change bed linens.
- Bring patients snacks after surgery.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, Physicians and other staff.
- Assist in training new staff when needed.

- Attendance – Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Required: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS
- None required
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY
- Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient in using printer, copier, telephone and fax machine
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to:
- Walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally be able to push up to an excess of 200 pounds
- Occasionally be able to pull/ lift patients with the assistance of other personnel and or assistive devices, up to an excess of 400-500 pounds
- Occasionally be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb
