As a Process Safety & Environmental Manager, you will provide technical leadership and coordination for process safety programs, risk management activities, and environmental compliance activities that support safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This position serves as the segments process safety subject matter expert and partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and external consultants to identify and reduce process safety and environmental risks across all Texture & Healthful Solution US/CAN manufacturing facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the process safety and environmental leader for a diverse network of manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and Canada. You'll have a direct impact on operational safety, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction while partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
In this highly visible role, you'll lead critical process safety initiatives, influence business decisions, support major capital projects, and help shape the future of safety and environmental performance across the organization. This role reports to the Senior Manager, EHSS, T&HS US/Canada and has 50% travel expectation.
What you will do:
- Lead and support process safety programs across the business segment, including OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), Combustible Dust, and Dry Thermal compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Dust Hazard Analyses (DHAs), Dry Thermal Reviews (DTRs), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and Management of Change (MOC) processes to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Chair the North America Process Safety Committee and drive continuous improvement through process safety performance monitoring, action management, and leadership reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and process safety programs, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead and support process safety incident investigations, audits, compliance reviews, and insurance inspections, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions and audit recommendations.
- Provide technical process safety guidance to Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and contractors, and support capital projects through design reviews, hazard assessments, and startup readiness activities.
- Build process safety competency across the organization through training, coaching, mentoring, and partnership with reliability and maintenance teams to strengthen mechanical integrity programs and safeguard critical equipment.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Risk Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS), process safety, or engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental and process safety regulations.
- Experience conducting environmental and Process Safety Management (PSM) audits, managing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting requirements and experience supporting permit applications, renewals, and compliance activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proven analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive results.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% as required.

$123,500.00-$164,700.00 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
