Job Summary
Senior Land Tech is an experienced professional and senior-level contributor within the Land Department. This role is responsible for preparing, submitting, and tracking proposal letters for new wells, workovers, re-completions, and pluggings. The Senior Land Tech calculates complex working interest and net revenue interest ownership, maintains accurate data in Land systems, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory matters. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in title ownership and curative documentation, researches complex land issues to provide recommendations, and actively mentors junior staff. This position works under minimal supervision and applies extensive knowledge and experience to a wide variety of situations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track proposal letters sent to partners on new wells, workovers, re-completions, and pluggings.
- Route, track, and monitor election deadlines associated with election periods in relation to operated and non-operated properties.
- Calculate complex working interest and net revenue interest ownership in wells.
- Demonstrate proficiency in title ownership and curative documentation.
- Maintain accurate data in Land systems to ensure proper reporting to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in the preparation and monitoring of regulatory matters.
- Research complex contract, lease, title, and landowner issues and make recommendations regarding such matters.
- Support acquisition and divestiture responsibilities involving wells through research and coordination with stakeholders.
- Apply extensive knowledge and experience to a wide variety of situations.
- Mentor and guide junior-level Land Tech staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Advanced knowledge in analyzing and inputting land contracts into internal databases to ensure compliance with contracts and agreements.
- Ability to prepare and calculate complex working interest for well setup.
- Demonstrates skill in reviewing, preparing, coordinating, and timely filing regulatory applications with internal and external parties.
- Ability to research complex land issues and provide sound recommendations.
- Proficient in Land systems and applications (e.g., Quorum, Well Tracker, SAP) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
