The DOVE Academy is currently seeking a clinical therapist to work with young women in an educational, recreational, leisure, and vocational setting. This agency is a non-profit that has been working with youth, providing guidance and service for over 20 years.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a licensed professional, the primary responsibility of the Clinical Coordinator is to complete required assessments, provision of individual, group and family therapy, coordinating and implementing behavioral programming associated with the treatment plan, monitoring overall the course of treatment services, and convening treatment team meetings as scheduled or on an as need basis. Clinical Coordinator’s should be acutely aware of the Dove Vocational Trauma Informed Practices and engage both staff and youth through the lens of trauma.
Essential Functions:
1. Monitors and documents the student’s overall progress while in vocational, educational, work and leisure settings.
2. Conducts intake and program orientation procedures with each new student in accordance to program policy.
3. Completes an Initial Treatment Plan for admitted youth within 7 days of youth’s arrival.
4. Conducts Treatment Team Meetings with each student on a Bi–Weekly basis.
5. Completes a comprehensive Mental Health/Substance Abuse Assessment and Individualized Treatment Plan within thirty (30) days of each youth’s arrival to the program.
6. Coordinates the implementation of the treatment plan.
7. Effectively addresses student maladaptive behavior through positive verbal interactions.
8. Implements delinquency intervention and gender specific programming.
9. Prevents and intervenes in student altercations and incidents.
10. Effectively communicates student information and concerns with other employees.
11. Shall ensure that upon admission each new student receives the MAYSI 2 screening instrument.
12. Shall review all MAYSI 2 screening instruments and make referrals for students identified as needing service.
13. Shall maintain mental health / substance abuse files in accordance to DJJ standards.
14. Shall schedule and coordinate mental health and substance abuse treatment for identified students.
15. Will drive Dove / Twin Oaks vehicles as required in accordance with the DJJ Policy.
16. If needed, will provide emergency First Aid and CPR in accordance with American Red Cross Standards.
17. Attends and participates in all required meetings and training.
18. Effectively implements all required Evidence Based treatment models that are adopted by the Program.
19. Actively involved with assisting each student meet their goals while in the program to include individual, family, and group therapy.
20. Shall have the ability and skill to manage group activities through the appropriate use of the BMS.
21. Adheres to all program policy and procedures pertinent to this job description.
22. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed or needed for efficient operations of the program.
23. Attend and participate in Clinical Supervision with DMHA at least 1 hour per week face to face.
Requirements
Certification in CPR, First Aid by a nationally recognized organization (Red Cross, AHA).
Current state driver’s license
Master’s Level Degree in a related human service field.
Meet criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements.
