About the opportunity

This is a Mental Health Early Career Opportunity to develop a pipeline of allied health occupational therapists into Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing services. This position is funded to uplift educator resources that support the graduate Occupational therapists.

The Primary focus of the role is to:

• In the design, coordination and delivery of professional development activities for staff to meet the needs of the service.
• Provide hands on teaching and clinical support to Graduate Occupational Therapy cohort.
• The position also has a key role in supporting, reviewing and evaluating graduate programs.
• This Position will support the occupational therapist undergraduate program with a coordinated, comprehensive education framework to address organizational, discipline and individual professional development needs.
• The incumbent also contributes to the training and education activities to the broader Mercy Mental Health Program as part of the Learning and Development Team.

• Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to learning cohorts.
• Proven ability to work in advanced area of education coordination for professional practice for the occupational therapy discipline.
• The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Advanced clinical supervision and reflective practice skills.
• Specialist mental health occupational therapy experience.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Post Qualification Experience – 5 years.
• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
