Flex recruitment:
There are currently three (3) full-time, regular hire Capital Planning and Project Manager I/II (CPPM I/II) vacancies in the Capital Projects Division. Candidates will be considered for the level they meet minimum qualifications.

Working under the direction of the Capital Division Manager and in coordination with senior project management staff, the Capital Planning and Project Manager I and II positions support the delivery of Capital Improvement Projects from the planning and design phases through construction and project closeout. These positions provide project coordination and management support to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within approved budgets and schedules, and in accordance with applicable requirements.

The Capital Planning and Project Manager I and II work closely with County project managers, design consultants, contractors, internal departments, and other project stakeholders in the delivery of Capital Projects. Responsibilities include assisting with the development and coordination of Request for Proposals from design consultants and other vendors, documenting design progress meetings, developing contract documents, uploading documents to an online bidding platform and overseeing the contract award process with administrative staff.

These positions help monitor project progress, schedules, budgets, and compliance with state-mandated safety requirements, and work with project team members to identify and address issues that may affect successful project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in capital project management while gaining hands-on experience with planning, coordination, construction, and closeout of projects that make a meaningful difference in the community. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop valuable project management skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and take on increasing levels of responsibility as their knowledge and expertise grow.

Hybrid schedule:

The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely for up to two (2) business days per workweek. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.
