Finance function (including Accounting & Reporting process) at Yahoo is very critical considering the importance of maintaining proper books of accounts, monitoring cash flow and adhering to complex regulations across the globe along with handling the audit queries and other regulatory reviews.
We work together with the Business, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Finance operations (AR&AP), Audit, Treasury, Business Finance and ERP Applications teams to ensure accurate records are maintained in a timely manner, contributing to overall success of Yahoo. While timely updating and closing the books, rolling out the accurate reports in a timely manner plays a key role in achieving the objectives of this function, adherence to internal control systems, processes and policies, ensuring 100% controllership integrity along with adherence to applicable regulatory compliance is paramount.

Your Responsibilities:
Support key monthly close activities, including Fixed Assets and Prepaid subledgers, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and close reporting.
Identify and implement AI-assisted automation (e.g., Excel Copilot, enterprise AI tools) to streamline month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and manual journal validations.
Support quarterly preparation of required financial disclosures, compliance checklists, and SOX key control executions.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide accurate, timely responses and support documentation.
Critically evaluate and validate AI-generated financial summaries and analytical outputs to ensure 100% data accuracy and controllership compliance.
Document and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating workflows.
Assist Accounting Managers with ad-hoc financial reporting, special projects, and controllership change initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting or financial controllership experience.
Strong core knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP (General Ledger, Fixed Assets, AR/AP, or Cash Management) or similar enterprise ERP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and financial modeling.
Demonstrated experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., Copilots, LLMs) or automated workflows to increase speed, accuracy, and efficiency in accounting operations.
Openness to experimentation with emerging financial technologies and a continuous-learning mindset in an evolving AI-augmented work environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage tight close deadlines independently.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or progress toward professional accounting certification.
Experience participating in financial system implementations, process automation projects, or AI workflow integrations.
Background in large multinational technology or digital media companies.

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
