We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow to push the development of the AIoT system, which is a key thrust in a Soundscape project. This is a big project where there is a strong emphasis in deployment, testing and scaling up in building. There are many diverse factors to come up with a robust and stable system to made it more industry ready that focus on cross-platform instead of current single platform. Furthermore, the success of this thrust will help to increase university engagement with industry that facilitate tech transfer that benefited university and industry. The role will focus on data curation, AI model training, edge-AI deployment, subjective evaluation, and AIoT implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Writing, debugging, optimizing and testing of source code with an emphasis on audio applications
Maintenance and improvement of existing audio algorithm code base including noise reduction, acoustic echo cancellation, automatic gain control, voice activity detection, packet loss compensation and other audio enhancements
Supporting Research and Feasibility Studies including defining the scope and goals of audio research tasks and completion of detailed reports on results and recommendations for development activities
Software development of new algorithmic audio processing solutions including the existing areas mentioned above and additionally including state of the art audio codecs, audibility and intelligibility enhancements, microphone array processing, soundscape and other audio enhancements
Project management tasks including creation and maintenance of requirements and schedule documentation for assigned projects, project budget etc.
Publish journal and conference papers as dictated by the assigned projects.
Provide guidance of Master/Undergraduate students
Need more than 5 years of industry experience working in this area.
Job Requirements:
PhD qualification degree in soundscape engineering and evaluation or related field
At least 5 years of relevant experiences in soundscape engineering / technical hands-on experience soundscape evaluation
Familiarity with soundscape ISO standards
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in AI (python) programming and R programming
Competent in designing subjective experiments and evaluation
Ability to work independently, develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details / excellent organizational and time management skills and have experiences in publishing soundscape engineering papers,
Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Possesses international experience, with a strong network of contacts in the region
