Director of International Sales
Type: Remote, Full-Time

Our client is a recognized leader in crop nutrition and soil health solutions, delivering innovative products that help growers improve productivity through science-backed technologies. With proprietary dry and liquid crop nutrition, biostimulant, and soil amendment products supported by secure raw material reserves and Canadian manufacturing, they have established a strong presence in international agricultural markets.
As the organization continues to expand globally, they are seeking an experienced international sales leader to drive strategic growth, strengthen distributor partnerships, and lead the development of a high-performing international sales team across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
International Sales Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop the International Sales Manager while building a scalable international sales organization as the business continues to grow.
- Establish clear regional responsibilities, sales targets, KPIs, and accountability standards to drive sustainable international growth.
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy for all markets outside the United States and Canada.
International Business Development:
- Grow an established portfolio of more than 100 international customer accounts while identifying opportunities to expand into new countries and regions.
- Evaluate market potential, competitive landscapes, regulatory requirements, and customer demand to prioritize international growth initiatives.
- Develop relationships with distributors, manufacturers, retailers, and strategic agricultural customers across global markets.
Distributor & Channel Management:
- Recruit, negotiate, appoint, and manage distributors, importers, commercial agents, and exclusive territory partners.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms, volume commitments, and distributor performance expectations.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key partners to evaluate results, identify opportunities, and support long-term business growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner with Marketing and Product Development to support regional product positioning, technical resources, and market development initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure successful production planning, export logistics, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate product registration and market-access activities with internal teams and qualified regulatory partners.
Strategic Planning & Market Development:
- Develop annual business plans, sales forecasts, budgets, and profitability targets for international operations.
- Provide market intelligence related to customer needs, pricing trends, competitive activity, regulations, and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the organization at international customer meetings, distributor events, and industry trade shows to strengthen market presence and expand business opportunities.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, International Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of international B2B sales experience, preferably within agriculture, crop inputs, or specialty plant nutrition.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing international customer portfolios while developing new global markets.
- Proven leadership experience managing international sales teams and distributor networks.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of international trade, export logistics, customs documentation, Incoterms, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements, distributor partnerships, pricing strategies, and international contracts.
- Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, margin management, and business planning.
