Responsibilities
The Opportunity
Application Architecture is central to driving software development and long-term technology strategy across the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) organization. This role establishes a comprehensive end-to-end vision for application design and provides strong technical leadership, guiding teams on priorities, direction, and adoption of modern, reusable, and AI-enabled technologies. As a key enabler of scalable digital transformation across PepsiCo’s value chain, this leader fosters collaboration, promotes standardization and reuse, and ensures alignment between business strategy and technology execution.
This position is responsible for architecting and designing the logical and physical structures of digital products and applications, including defining technology stacks, reusable design patterns, and engineering standards. The role ensures systems are scalable, performant, cost-efficient, and observable by incorporating monitoring strategies for performance, availability, and system health, along with workflow design and optimization. Additionally, it involves evaluating and selecting tools and frameworks, guiding engineering teams on consistent implementation, mitigating technical risks, and optimizing solutions through build-time and run-time cost analysis.
