Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 4 days on site (Monday to Thursday)
Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant provides accounting and cost accounting support within our semiconductor company, covering financial reporting, accounting operations, and cost analysis. This includes gathering historical cost data, investigating cost structures, and analyzing product and service pricing and budget-versus-actual results. The role applies analytical methods to semiconductor manufacturing economics, such as cost models for production processes, yield management, and technology nodes, to support manufacturing profitability and cost competitiveness. The position requires strong accounting and cost accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively across accounting and cost accounting teams to ensure accurate financial recording, reporting, and cost management.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations
Supporting processes and procedures
Assist with transaction processing and reconciliation
Contribute to month-end closing activities
Help prepare financial statements and reports
Support identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies and exceptions
Maintain reconciliation and supporting accounting documentation
Financial Reporting and Cost Analysis
Support financial reporting processes and data collection and verification
Help prepare required financial disclosures and management reporting packages
Support compliance with accounting standards and cost accounting policies
Contribute to cost frameworks and cost models that support business decision-making
Assist with product and portfolio cost analysis, including margin analysis and target-costing support
Manufacturing Cost Analysis
Support cost analysis of semiconductor manufacturing operations and technologies
Assist with development of cost models for production processes, yield management, and technology nodes
Help identify manufacturing cost drivers and cost trends
Run analysis that supports manufacturing optimization, capacity planning, and technology investment decisions
Assist with maintaining and contributing to the Bi-annual standard cost updates
Assist insight into MFG variances, PPV, and E&O
Support initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing profitability and cost competitiveness
Audit Support
Assist with internal and external audit activities
Support preparation of audit schedules and documentation
Help respond to audit inquiries and requests
Contribute to implementation of audit recommendations
Document audit support activities
Cross-functional Support and Knowledge Transfer
Support accounting interfaces with other departments, including operations, engineering, and supply chain
Assist with financial communications and information sharing across functions
Contribute to cross-functional financial initiatives and process improvement efforts
Document processes and procedures for knowledge transfer
Share accounting expertise and support training on specific procedures
Support adoption of new cost accounting tools, technologies, and digital solutions
Compliance Requirements
Adheres to all Company security and confidentiality requirements
Comply with financial data protection policies
Follows all accounting standards and financial regulations
Maintains appropriate documentation of accounting activities
Completes all required training and certifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Experience with accounting software and systems
High level of accuracy in financial calculations
Good problem-solving abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in team environments
Advanced Excel and Accounting Software skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing accounting requirements
Commitment to financial accuracy and integrity
Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, technologies, and cost drivers
Strong communication skills with ability to engage effectively across functions
Experience with advanced costing methodologies including activity-based costing and target costing
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Preferred), cost modules, and analytical platforms
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
2+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related role
Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
Experience with accounting systems and financial applications
Background in technology or manufacturing industry preferred
2-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or related roles
Advanced knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing economics and cost structures
