The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will assist the head coach with all daily administrative duties for the women's basketball program and management of the women's basketball team.

Responsibilities:

• Assists the Head Women's Basketball Coach with all administrative and management duties including, but not limited to, conducting practices, and conditioning workouts, scheduling of games, travel planning, evaluating and recruiting prospective players for the team.
• Attends conferences, workshops and training to remain current in knowledge relating to women's collegiate basketball.
• Adheres to and monitor compliance of all established rules and regulations of NCAA, SWAC, TAMUS, the University and the department and report any violations of these rules and regulations to the proper officials.
• Assist with monitoring of players' academic progress to ensure eligibility for team practices and competitions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Special Requirements:

• Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
