**This is an in-office position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role also requires participation in on-call rotation and flexibility to cover open site hours as needed**
We’re excited to welcome a passionate and visionary leader to join our team as Director of Services at Imagine the Possibilities, Inc. In this key role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding high-quality services, empowering teams, and helping individuals live their fullest lives. We’re looking for someone who leads with purpose, values collaboration, and is driven to create positive change in the communities we serve.
Director of Services provides leadership to a team of direct care professionals, who is laser-focused on providing the best care possible to the individuals we serve. You will lead a team to fulfill our mission of empowering people to reach individual achievement across the spectrum of life. If you’re passionate about empowering people to reach their goals and help them strive for more, we want you to join our team. As a core member of the regional leadership team, you’ll be responsible for keeping updated records, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations from governing bodies, and implementing services that emphasize individual choice and decision making. Your consistent leadership will provide your team with the trusted foundation they need to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
This role operates administratively in the following departments:
- Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Setting, defined as “medical, social, and supportive services for Iowans with functional, cognitive, and other physical or mental health needs” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than institutionalizing individuals who have these physical and mental health needs, HCBS settings provide these individuals with the opportunity to live and receive services in a way honoring them and their abilities.
What Winning Looks Like:
While it’s not a competition, we do recognize that each person wants to ‘win’ at life; and you’re a central part of someone else’s wins – as well as your own! In this role, you’ll be responsible to:
- Regional Leadership & Personnel Management: Provide leadership and supervision across the assigned region, including staffing oversight, hiring and interviews, supervisory selection, staff evaluations, meetings, discipline, delegation of responsibilities, orientation, ongoing training, and hands-on support for Direct Support staff and programs.
- Staffing, Training & Operational Oversight: Coordinate staffing based on regional needs and available service revenue, monitor vacancies and overtime, ensure adequate coverage, and oversee timely completion and documentation of new hire orientation, required training, and staff requirements. Arrange in-house training and meetings as needed.
- Compliance, Quality & Documentation: Ensure programs comply with all applicable agency policies, DHS, DIA, IME, HCBS, accreditation, and other governing requirements. Review service and incident documentation, ensure appropriate follow-up and corrective actions, verify billable units are supported by accurate documentation and authorizations, and maintain records for regulatory and accreditation reviews.
- Program & Individual Service Oversight: Oversee programming functions and serve as a resource for individual program plans, ensuring services and staff decisions align with established plans, organizational standards, and the needs of individuals served. Monitor program operations and identify opportunities to improve service quality and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Relations & Regional Administration: Serve as a key contact for referrals and admissions, monitor waiting lists, market programs and services, communicate with individuals, families, and other stakeholders to support satisfaction, represent the organization at meetings as directed, provide requested reports, oversee regional property and equipment, participate in management activities, and fulfill on-call responsibilities as applicable.
