As a Research Coordinator I, your role is crucial in enrolling patients in clinical trials, conducting study visits and collecting questionnaires and other important study-related information. In this role, you will support interventional cardiology research studies, including more than 50 active studies, with approximately 10 in study start-up, 30 enrolling and 24 in follow-up. Responsibilities include IRB and regulatory support, maintaining and creating regulatory documents, scheduling research patients, uploading images and maintaining EDC systems for cardiovascular patient data capture.

Your work will help advance interventional cardiovascular care and treatment options while supporting the growth of patient participation and future clinical trials. While the numerous responsibilities can be challenging to manage, you will work with a supportive team that encourages you to enhance your skills and identify new avenues of treatment. A caregiver in this role works Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (flexible)

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Assist with coordinating the compliant implementation and conduct of human subject research projects.  

• Maintain regulatory documents and binders, conduct data management, complete IRB submissions and communicate with the research team.  

• Report and complete serious adverse events and/or safety logs.  

• Communicate with sponsors, monitors and research personnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance.  

• Collaborate with primary investigators, sponsors and research caregivers to plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols, including research subject recruitment.  

• Schedule pre-site selection visits, site initiation visits, webinars, monitoring and close-out visits.  

• Plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols and research subject recruitment.  

• Monitor and report project status and research data.  

• Complete regulatory documents, data capture, monitoring plans and protocol-related activities.  

• Assist with preparing and responding to audits and maintaining research tools. 

• Complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of clinical research or healthcare experience 

• OR Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare or a science-related field 

• Demonstrated proficiency with various computer-based skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, data entry, and EPIC) 

• Understanding of the basic concepts of study design 

• Within 90 days of hire, must successfully complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic 

• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare or a science-related field 

• Computer acumen (Outlook, Excel, research databases) 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

• In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:
