Job Description Summary:

The Manager, Learning – Simulation & Continuing Medical Education (CME) provides strategic and operational leadership for OhioHealth's simulation-based learning and accredited continuing medical education programs. This leader is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of learning solutions that support clinical excellence, workforce readiness, patient safety, provider development, and organizational performance.

The Manager collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical leaders, educators, and operational stakeholders to ensure educational programs align with enterprise priorities, accreditation requirements, quality outcomes, and workforce development goals. This role leads a team of learning professionals and simulation specialists and contributes to the strategic objectives of the Learning, Culture, and Belonging department.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Leadership and Team Development (25%)
Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for assigned team members. Builds a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team culture. Supports professional development, succession planning, and continuous learning Assures that learning supports the strategic plan, complies with regulatory bodies such as TJC, HFAP, AOA, ACGME and OSHA and promotes research and innovation.

Simulation and CME Program Leadership (40%)
Directs system-wide simulation and continuing medical education programs. Ensures compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and credentialing requirements. Oversees simulation operations, technology, equipment, scheduling, and educational quality. Advances innovative learning methodologies that improve clinical competency, teamwork, and patient safety.

Learning Strategy and Program Management (25%)
Leads planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and professional learning initiatives.  Partners with business, clinical, and physician leaders to identify learning needs and design effective solutions. Ensures alignment with organizational goals, quality priorities, and workforce development strategies. Utilizes learning analytics and outcomes data to measure impact and inform decision-making.

Financial and Operational Management (10%)
Manages staffing plans and operational resources. Monitors performance, productivity, and supports financial initiatives. Ensures responsible stewardship of organizational resources and operational excellence.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

• • Field of Study: Adult Learning, Education, Health Care Administration, Nursing or other related field
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of learning methods including learning technology
  • Working knowledge of outcomes / patient safety as it relates to learning
  • Physician/Clinical staff relationships
  • Accounting, Budgeting and Project Planning/Management Report writing (clinical, financial, productivity and billing)
  • Clinical knowledge in any area including nursing, medicine, emergency medicine, respiratory therapy or others preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of leadership, project management and/or learning experience
  • 5 to 7 years designing and managing learning initiatives for large organizations
  • Experience with budget process, volumes and FTEs

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Master's or PhD Degree in in Adult Learning, Education, healthcare Administration, Nursing or other related field. Business implementation Grant writing six sigma Lean training preferred. Knowledgeable and familiar with the use of clinical simulation in the education of healthcare professionals and how it relates to patient safety and physician credentialing.

Experience with simulation at all fidelity levels and modalities preferred but not required. Knowledge of graduate medical education and residency requirements Knowledge or experience with concepts of team building, change management and effective communication
