Background on the Team

The Asian Macro Sales GC team based in Mumbai works in tandem with Sales teams based in Hongkong and Singapore covering varied range of products including FX, Rates and related Derivative strategies

Primary Responsibilities

  • This position would suit a trade support or middle office professional who has previous experience with a global investment bank foreign exchange department and is seeking to support a high-performing team.
  • Strong product knowledge of Foreign Exchange is required; knowledge and execution of Asian currency markets is preferred.
  • The ideal applicant would have previous experience for a few years within Foreign Exchange in a direct trade support, P&L support, or desk support capacity.
  • A good understanding of trade flow processing, P&L principles is important, in addition to a good understanding trading and transactions.
  • We are keen for applicants to have a solid trade support experience with direct trade booking, and revenue reporting.

Responsibilities

The sales and trading teams will often be direct in their communication, so it's important that the Trading Assistant is able to communicate succinctly and concisely. The candidate would be able to build a strong rapport with clients and require close liaison with other teams and external vendors to deliver excellence to the Firm’s clients.

  • Work with trade support teams, salespeople, trading assistants and external Middle Office functions to ensure perfect trade bookings and settlement, and quick resolution of trade disputes
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate resolution of trade discrepancies (liaise with trading desk, IT, settlements)
  • Complete FX trade bookings and allocations, manage currency exposures, help check client positions and address client queries
  • Work with the sales desk to set up / facilitate new client opportunities
  • Become involved in projects / strategic work as required and remain flexible regarding products dealt with.
  • Collate, analyse daily/weekly/monthly management reporting data (trade processing, flow, positioning)
  • Maintenance of proprietary spreadsheets and data

Skills desired

We are looking for a confident and outgoing person, who has exceptional attention to detail and is proactive in taking initiative. Successful candidates will have a proven work experience analyzing data.

  • Graduate MBA with 2- 3 years of experience
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills (regular phone contact with team and internal stakeholders required)
  • Excellent written & spoken English
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg will be a plus
  • Advanced knowledge and extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel including macros
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
