Position Summary...

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving the full software lifecycle from design through deployment and maintenance. This role requires expertise in cloud-native architectures, AI/ML integration, and software design patterns to build resilient, modular solutions. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to align efforts with strategic priorities. Your focus on engineering excellence, innovation, and data-driven decision-making will ensure high-quality outcomes that support business objectives and enhance developer productivity.

About the team:

Our team develops and manages Puppet for configuration management across Stores, Home Office, Distribution Centers, WebPoS, Central America, and TFO-managed compute environments in OpenStack, Azure, and GCP, supporting over 200,000 nodes. We emphasize simplifying processes, enhancing security, and accelerating deployment speed. Applying cloud-native architecture principles and advanced engineering design, we deliver scalable and reliable solutions. Collaboration and innovation drive continuous improvement, enabling efficient platform capabilities and seamless integration across systems. This environment fosters technical excellence and problem-solving to meet evolving business and operational needs.

What you'll do...

  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and develop intelligent automation features using multiple programming languages.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software design patterns, API design, and platform development aligned with roadmap priorities.
  • Proficiency in full software development lifecycle management, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
  • Ability to lead design reviews and apply data-driven decision making to optimize engineering outcomes.
  • Skilled in developing AI/ML integrations and intelligent automation using languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence through debugging, remedial action, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
