Get paid experience in a corporate environment while you study.
Looking for a way to build your resume, gain real workplace experience and earn money while studying? VU students have the opportunity to join MUFG Retirement Solutions as a Student Administrator. This is a new opportunity designed specifically for VU students, with flexible shifts to help you balance work with your university commitments.
About the partnership
MUFG Retirement Solutions is one of Australia’s leading administration and technology providers to the superannuation industry. VU recently launched a major partnership with MUFG Retirement Solutions to create more opportunities for students to gain real industry experience while studying.
As an immediate priority of the partnership, VU and MUFG Retirement Solutions have worked together to launch this new Student Administrator Future First Program. These new roles, available exclusively to VU students, offer paid experience, professional connections and potential pathways into future roles with MUFG Retirement Solutions and in the financial services and superannuation sector.
About the opportunity
We’re looking for 30 VU students to join the Future First Program as Student Administrators. You’ll work in a team supporting the administration of superannuation funds. The role is designed around your studies:
2 x 4-hour shifts per week
- Flexible shifts, selected online via WePloy platform
- All work completed on-site at the MUFG office (no hybrid arrangements)
- Training provided before you start
You’ll gain paid professional experience while you study, with the potential to explore suitable full-time opportunities with MUFG as you approach graduation, where available.
Note: You’ll be employed by WePloy and work within the MUFG Retirement Solutions environment, with MUFG managing the work you'll undertake.
What will I actually do?
You’ll help process administrative requests and member enquiries, including:
- Responding to member enquiries via email
- Updating member account details
- Processing superannuation requests, such as beneficiary updates and notices of intent to claim a tax deduction
The work can be high-volume, so accuracy and attention to detail are important. As you gain experience, there may be opportunities to take on additional tasks and work across different fund teams.
What will I get out of it?
- Paid industry experience to build your resume while studying
- Practical skills in communication, problem-solving, administration and teamwork
- Industry connections and insight into potential career pathways
- Opportunities to explore future roles with MUFG as you progress towards graduation
What are the recruiters looking for?
You don't need previous corporate or financial services experience — you'll be trained for the role. We’re looking for students who are:
- Reliable and organised, with good time management
- Accurate and detail-focused, particularly when working with data and administrative tasks
- Confident communicators who enjoy working with others
- Positive, proactive and willing to learn new systems and processes
- Interested in exploring a potential career at MUFG
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to current VU students only. To apply, you must:
- Be currently enrolled at VU and have at least 12 months remaining in your course
Be available to work 2 x 4-hour shifts per week
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Be able to work on-site and complete the required training
Students studying business, finance, accounting, technology and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Note: This program is for current students, and graduates are not eligible for this program.
