The Opportunity:
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating all Agile ceremonies, sustaining a healthy and predictable Agile cadence, and removing impediments that hinder delivery. Operating as a servant leader, this role enables the team to deliver high quality software increments while supporting the Product Owner in promoting backlog clarity, prioritization, and value alignment. The Scrum Master fosters collaboration across cross functional teams, coaching them toward maturity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This role is essential to building high performing Agile teams within federal cloud modernization environments. You will shape delivery flow, support sprint execution, coordinate with Product Owners and technical leads, and guide the team toward sustained excellence. The Scrum Master ensures transparency, supports conflict resolution, reinforces Agile principles, and strengthens alignment between business needs and technical execution.

Responsibilities:
 

• Agile Facilitation & Delivery Enablement
  • Facilitate the development of working software and product increments, ensuring team alignment and clarity of sprint goals.
  • Lead all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain a sustainable Agile cadence, protecting timeboxes and reinforcing disciplined execution.
• Continuous Improvement & Flow Optimization
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging retrospection, feedback loops, and measurable refinements to team processes.
  • Remove impediments and blockers by proactively identifying delays, bottlenecks, and cross team dependencies.
• Backlog Support & Prioritization
  • Support the Product Owner by promoting backlog health, readiness, and meaningful prioritization.
  • Coach the team on user story refinement, acceptance criteria clarity, and definition of done compliance.
• Team Collaboration & Accountability
  • Promote collaboration, transparency, and accountability across cross functional teams.
  • Encourage open communication, conflict resolution, and shared ownership of sprint commitments.
  • Support the development of high performing teams, reinforcing Agile values such as trust, alignment, and self management.

Qualifications:

Required: 
 

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including facilitation skills, coaching ability, communication strength, and conflict‑resolution capability.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and the ability to guide teams through iteration planning, delivery alignment, and process stabilization.

Desired:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile/Scrum certification.
• Experience supporting Agile delivery in federal programs, cloud‑based modernization efforts, or multi‑team Agile Release Trains.
• Background in facilitating cross‑functional collaboration, readiness activities, and quality‑focused delivery patterns.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$131,800 - $290,000
