Job Description

The Senior Analyst owns the day-to-day execution of the Cash and Risk Management functions of the Treasury group within the Private Equity platform. The ideal candidate is a self-directed owner who sets a high standard for accuracy and is comfortable managing multiple priorities and overlapping deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Risk Management & Operations

• Lead liquidity forecasting across the public and private platforms, providing clear variance analysis and commentary to support senior management decision-making;
• Manage the debt facility portfolio end-to-end, including covenant compliance, borrowing base reporting, drawdowns, amendments, and ongoing lender coordination;
• Oversee interest calculations and billings to portfolio companies, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of inquiries from portfolio finance teams;
• Manage custody accounts and execute custody-related transactions, ensuring appropriate controls and timely settlement;
• Act as the Treasury lead for the quarterly reporting cycle, including preparation of Management Discussion and Analysis inputs and coordination of responses to auditor inquiries;
• Structure and execute complex fund flows, coordinating legal documentation, step plans, banking requirements, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure transactions close accurately and on time;
• Act as a key relationship manager for banks, financial institutions, and internal business partners, independently managing inquiries, resolving escalations, and driving issues to resolution;
• Maintain and enhance Treasury policies and procedures related to fund flows and cash management, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, standardize processes, and improve operational efficiency;
• Oversee the ISDA negotiation process and support FX and interest rate risk management activities, including hedge ratio monitoring, trade settlements, maturities, and swap settlements;
• Provide guidance to junior analysts and review work across the processes owned by the role, helping maintain a high standard of accuracy and execution across the team;
• Lead ad hoc analyses and special projects from scoping through execution, synthesizing findings and presenting recommendations and conclusions directly to stakeholders and senior management.

 

Cash / Systems Function

• Own the daily bank reconciliation process within the Treasury Management System (“Quantum”), including oversight of cash flow matching, exception resolution, and transaction designation to ensure accurate and timely reporting;
• Lead the investigation and resolution of failed transactions and settlement issues, assessing root causes, determining the appropriate course of action, and escalating with clear recommendations where required;
• Manage daily FX maturities from Quantum through settlement confirmation, proactively identifying and resolving breaks with banks and counterparties;
• Oversee the set-up and execution of wires and transfers through banking portals, ensuring transactions are consistent with approved requests and executed in accordance with internal controls;
• Administer bank account structures within Quantum, including account onboarding, account group maintenance, system configuration, and related data integrity;
• Act as a primary executor for urgent, complex, and high-value cash transactions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely execution;
• Manage KYC/AML onboarding and documentation requirements for new and amended bank and custody accounts, coordinating with financial institutions and internal stakeholders through completion;
• Own the banking verification call-back control for vendors and third-party investors, including execution of the control, maintenance of procedures, and retention of appropriate audit evidence;
• Identify and drive automation, system enhancements, and process improvements across cash management and Treasury systems, including requirements definition, user acceptance testing, implementation, and post-launch validation.

 

Requirements:

• Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA preferred); CFA or CTP an asset;

• Three to five (3-5) years of progressive experience in treasury, capital markets, finance and/or accounting;
• Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel; Treasury Management System experience (Quantum an asset);
• Experience executing complex funds flows and managing banking relationships directly;
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the judgment to know when work can be relied on without further review;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, surfacing issues early with proposed solutions;
• Proven ability to own deliverables end-to-end with minimal direction;
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the credibility to engage senior management and lenders;
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 CAD
