Position Overview
The Clinical Operations Nurse Manager is responsible for managing daily clinical operations within the Otolaryngology Clinic and providing clinical oversight for nursing care at associated off-site clinics. Partnering closely with Division Chiefs and the Service Line Director, this role leads the local operational execution of strategic initiatives for the Otolaryngology Clinic to advance Seattle Children's mission, vision, and values. This role drives continuous workflow improvements, oversees the clinic budget and staffing, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports a highly engaged clinical team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Culture & Team Engagement: Drive team engagement and cultivate a high-performance clinic culture. Maintain a visible presence in the clinic to remove blockers, build trust, and translate broader strategic goals into actionable targets for staff.
Cost Center Budget Performance: Manage the clinic's operational budget and expenses. Independently monitor monthly financial reports, manage budget variances, and adjust spending in real time based on patient volume.
Staffing Efficiency: Oversee daily staffing levels, schedules, and callout responses. Align staffing models and team skill mix with patient volume, acuity, and clinical competency needs.
Clinic Operations & Resource Optimization: Lead daily clinic flow, exam room utilization, and time-sensitive patient escalations. Maintain continuous regulatory survey readiness and eliminate throughput bottlenecks from check-in to discharge.
Strategic Execution: Implement service line strategic initiatives into daily standard work. Use Lean methodologies to drive continuous process improvements and track clinic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. A Master’s degree in Nursing may be substituted provided the incumbent also possesses a Bachelor’s degree in another field. Minimum of two years of nursing or relevant clinical experience. Demonstrated performance improvement leadership experience.
Required Credentials
Current Washington State RN licensure. BLS for Healthcare Providers. A copy of Bachelor's degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of Bachelor's degree (or higher) in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Nursing or business related field. Experience in a pediatric ambulatory setting. Three (3) or more years recent experience in an ambulatory management and/or leadership role.
Compensation Range
$133,247.00 - $199,871.00 per yearSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
