Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for 12 months
Base salary will be in the range $85,372.89 - $113,659.72 + 17% super (Academic Level A)

About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support with delivering tasks for the ARC Discovery project regarding “Safe and efficient eco-driving” and the ARC Future Fellowship “From error-prone human driving to error free superhuman-like self-driving” project.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Support research activities across major ARC-funded projects, contribute to high-quality publications, and collaborate on competitive research funding applications and partnerships.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, supporting the hiring manager’s teaching and research activities while fostering a positive and productive research environment.
Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate UQ values through collaboration, active participation in unit priorities, and support for colleagues as needed, while building relationships with industry, government, professional bodies, and the wider community.

About You
Completed PhD in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Research expertise may include one or more of the following areas: emerging mobility, mixed traffic modelling, connected and automated vehicles, micromobility, experimental design using driving simulators, virtual reality (VR) and augmented virtual testing, and test tracks, as well as traffic safety and sustainable transport systems.
Expertise in the development and application of advanced artificial intelligence techniques for autonomous driving.
Demonstrated track record of publishing high-quality research in leading international journals and research interests aligned with the transition from human-driven vehicles to safe and reliable autonomous driving.
