Description
The Quality Generalist provides vital operational and administrative support to the Quality Department. In this job, you will help keep our quality paperwork organized and accurate. Responsibilities will be focused on the review and preparation of documents such as First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs). You will also inspect finished products as a Product Release Delegate (DPRV Personnel). Additional support functions will vary depending on the needs of the department. Key Responsibilities:
- Check Quality Paperwork: Review and organize paperwork for First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs) to make sure they are correct.
- Inspect and Release Products: Act as a Product Release Delegate (DPRV) to inspect finished parts and sign off on them so they can be shipped to customers.
- Coordinate Inspections: Help schedule and prepare paperwork for customer and government inspectors who visit our facility.
- Inspection & Assembly Support: Help the incoming inspection or assembly departments with inspecting parts or supporting production when needed.
- Enter Data: Input quality information, test results, and records into our computer systems accurately.
- General Department Support: Help the Quality team with organizing files, scanning documents, and using software to track and manage actions for the quality team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (a 2-year Associate’s degree or technical certificate is a plus).
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, or office environment.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings, blueprints, or technical schematics.
- Experience reading and working with basic paperwork, checklists, or instructions.
- Good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or other basic databases.
- Good eyesight (with or without glasses/contacts) to inspect small parts and read paperwork.
Preferred Skills:
- Quality Experience: Previous experience working in a Quality Department or as a Quality Inspector/Technician.
- Aerospace/Defense Knowledge: Experience working in a factory that makes parts for aerospace, military, or defense customers.
- Special Certifications: Having a DPRV (Delegated Product Release Verification), IPC-620, J-STD-001, or other industry certification.
- ERP Software: Experience using manufacturing or tracking software (such as Fourth Shift).
- Problem Solving: Experience working in a team environment to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
