Education and Research Coordinator

Overview

This is a hybrid position.  Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

 

The Education & Research Coordinator serves as a central resource for the Education & Research Department, supporting workforce development, educational programs, research activities, and community engagement initiatives across Central Health. Working closely with department leadership, program managers, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and community partners, this role coordinates the Central Texas Healthcare Academy (CTHA) and other education and workforce programs that promote awareness of healthcare careers and create pathways to education, training, and employment. The Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and programmatic support for Community Health Worker (CHW) and Medical Assistant (MA) apprenticeship programs; K-12 student engagement initiatives; and learner programs involving observers, interns, medical students, residents, fellows, nursing students, and allied health trainees. Responsibilities include coordinating onboarding, scheduling, communications, program logistics, data tracking, reporting, and research operations; maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders; supporting departmental events and special projects; and contributing to the successfulimplementation and continuous improvement of education, workforce development, and research initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate and support the Central Texas Healthcare Academy (CTHA) in collaboration with school districts,healthcare organizations, and industry partners.
• Serve as a liaison between Central Health, educational institutions, community organizations, and healthcarepartners to support workforce development and educational initiatives.
• Coordinate observational and experiential learning opportunities that align with curriculum requirements andhealthcare career pathways.
• Manage student experiences, including shadowing, tours, career exploration activities, and workforce developmentevents.
• Develop, maintain, and facilitate a network of healthcare professionals to provide classroom presentations,mentorship, career panels, and student engagement opportunities.
• Support recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts for CTHA and other education and workforce developmentprograms.
• Provide administrative and operational support for Community Health Worker (CHW) and Medical Assistant (MA)apprenticeship programs, including scheduling, documentation, tracking, compliance, and reporting.
• Monitor local labor market trends and healthcare workforce needs to inform educational programming, workforcedevelopment strategies, and career pathway initiatives.
• Collect, maintain, analyze, and report program data, outcomes, and performance metrics for grants, departmentalreports, and stakeholder updates.
• Gather and analyze participant and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for program enhancement andcontinuous improvement.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of educational events, workforce development activities,meetings, conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
• Support the development, coordination, and distribution of the monthly Clinical Services Newsletter, includingcontent collection, editing, stakeholder engagement, and publication support.
• Assist in the development, compilation, design, and annual publication of the Education & Research Departmentbooklet, highlighting departmental programs, learner achievements, outcomes, and key accomplishments.
• Support the maintenance of the Scholarly Activity website, including collecting content, tracking publications andpresentations, updating faculty and learner accomplishments, and ensuring information is current and accurate.
• Prepare correspondence, presentations, reports, promotional materials, and other communications to supportdepartmental operations and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advancedepartmental goals and educational opportunities.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Education & Research Department.

Qualifications

Education:

• Associates Degree (higher degree accepted) - Required

Work Experience:

• 3 years of Customer Service Experience - Required
• 2 years of Healthcare, Non-profit, Education or Academic Setting - Preferred
