A Day in the Life

This role sits within the Training and Education function, responsible for advancing healthcare professional (HCP) education, procedural training, and faculty engagement across designated therapy areas. The team partners closely with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Education, and external clinical stakeholders to develop and deliver evidence-based learning programs that support clinical adoption and professional development.

The position is based in Malaysia and operates under a flexible work arrangement. Regular regional engagement with healthcare professionals, faculty members, key opinion leaders (KOLs), societies, associations, and healthcare institutions is required. Travel is expected to support training programs, educational events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

As a Principal Training/Education Specialist, you will lead the development and execution of regional medical education and procedural training programs designed to enhance clinical knowledge, technical proficiency, and therapy adoption. This role combines educational strategy, faculty development, stakeholder engagement, program management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful learning experiences across multiple training formats.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of product, procedural, and clinical education programs for healthcare professionals, technicians, surgical teams, and other clinical stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain training curricula, course content, educational materials, learning methodologies, and training aids to support evolving therapy and product requirements.
  • Develop and manage relationships with faculty members, key opinion leaders, proctors, societies, associations, and teaching hospitals to expand educational capabilities and program reach.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to align educational strategies and learning pathways with therapy-specific business objectives.
  • Create and implement virtual, hybrid, and in-person educational programs that increase learner engagement and support measurable learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate existing medical education offerings, identify capability gaps, analyze participant feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all educational programs, faculty engagements, and related activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and documentation requirements in partnership with Legal, Compliance, and Training & Education Operations teams.
  • Manage assigned budgets, training calendars, event planning activities, and post-program communications to support effective resource utilization and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in medical education, clinical education, healthcare training, professional education, medical device industry training, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals and clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing educational events, faculty relationships, and external stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across commercial, marketing, clinical, and operational functions to achieve business and educational objectives.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the medical device, MedTech, or healthcare industry supporting clinician education and procedural training.
  • Experience building and managing faculty networks, key opinion leader partnerships, or proctor development programs.
  • Experience developing virtual and hybrid learning solutions and applying adult learning principles to healthcare education.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements, educational grant processes, and healthcare professional engagement guidelines.
  • Experience managing regional education programs across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.
