About the Department
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
Overview of the Role
Reporting to the T&O Risk Governance Assurance (TOGA) Head, as the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in the business continuity and resilience program governance.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive the development and implementation of business continuity guidelines and plans, processes and systems to effectively support the UOB Vietnam crisis management, business continuity & resilience program for all critical businesses, extending into key suppliers and service providers, as required by regulatory requirements.
- Establish a governance structure for strategic planning and execution of all Business Continuity and Resilience elements, including identification and assessment of risk and potential business disruption scenarios, tracking of mitigation actions, maintenance of strategic plans, and monitoring of overall program health, in compliance with policy, standards, and procedures.
- He/She will collaborate with various stakeholders (including Corporate Security, Human Resources, Strategic Communications, Technology, BU/SUs, country leadership teams and critical third-party service providers) to ensure the company's readiness & preparedness, and that the Bank's business continuity management programs, processes and responses are robust and resilient, in the event of any disruptions to critical business operations.
- Provide governance secretariat support to the BCM Committee working group and the BCM crisis management taskforce, to ensure timely escalation and updates of crisis and BCM programs, and support decision making by senior management to assure business continuity is maintained for the bank franchise.
- Lead the facilitation and coordination with Recovery Director, respective Critical Business Managers and Business and Support Units' (BU/SUs), Business Continuity Management (BCM) Coordinators in preparation for annual BCM attestation to UOB Vietnam Management.
- Engage BU/SUs in managing internal and external thematic audits, covering all BUs and SUs and own the results of the thematic BCM audits.
Job Requirements
The suitable candidates are expected to have following background, experience, skills:
- University degree (BA) with 5 - 8 years of working experience with at least 2 years in senior role.
- Proven and relevant experience in crisis management and business continuity planning in a financial services institution is required.
- Emergency, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or Project Management Certification is an advantage.
- Excellent in coordination, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Works effectively with diverse departmental groups and possesses strong influencing skills.
- Experience in developing and efficiently conducting cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Experience leading projects and programs.
- Experience facilitating risk assessments, and with risk management frameworks, processes, and tools.
- Experience delivering emergency, crisis, or risk management training.
- Experience leading incident response and capturing intel.
- Self-directed, self-motivated with the ability to take ownership for business unit goals, he/she should make sound decisions in a timely manner, use good judgment and keep initiatives moving.
- Possess strong verbal and written communications skills and with effective presentation skills.
