Weekend & Call Requirements: Weekend rotation (every 5th or 6th weekend) | On-call coverage required.
Position Overview & Clinical Scope
An acute care hospital in eastern Michigan is seeking a Temporary Echo Technologist to perform diagnostic adult echocardiography procedures. The technologist operates non-invasive ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images, evaluate heart chamber function, assess valvular performance, and support cardiologists with accurate diagnostic reporting.
Core Responsibilities & Technical Duties:
- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform 2D, Doppler, and color flow echocardiograms to evaluate cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and pathology.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and optimize ultrasound equipment, ensure proper image acquisition, and archive scans within the PACS/EHR network.
- Patient Care: Prepare and position patients, explain diagnostic procedures, and monitor patient status during testing.
- Clinical Collaboration: Summarize preliminary findings and communicate critical cardiac values promptly to supervising cardiologists and ordering physicians.
Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements
Certifications & Credentials:
- Primary Certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI [REQUIRED].
Experience & Attendance Policies:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated Echocardiogram Technologist experience [REQUIRED].
- Facility Attendance Policy: Strict three-strike attendance policy enforced. Unexcused absences, arrivals >20 minutes late, or unauthorized early departures result in formal attendance strikes.
