Job Summary

As a Biochemist at BioLegend, you will be an integral member of a dynamic team manufacturing purified conjugated antibodies. Your work will directly support groundbreaking studies in precision medicine, oncology, immunology, and neuroscience.


This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your knowledge in the biotechnology industry within a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our finalized products by following established procedures, troubleshooting processes, and contributing to continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Manufacturing & Purification: Perform small and large-scale antibody conjugations with light-sensitive fluorophores and execute purification processes using various column chromatography techniques.
  • Quality & Compliance: Meticulously follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and other compliance documentation to ensure adherence to our quality and regulatory standards.
  • Process Improvement: Take initiative to propose and participate in improvement projects, contribute to troubleshooting efforts, and help improve methodologies for greater efficiency.
  • Lab Operations: Operate and maintain essential laboratory equipment. Contribute to laboratory safety and organization through 5S maintenance and sustainment activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to foster a productive and cohesive environment, participate in the daily visual management system (QDIPs), and cross-train on supporting tasks to ensure high productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field; OR a Biotech certification; OR equivalent biotechnology industry working experience.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a related biotech product development or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with some experience in biotech manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with antibody conjugation.
  • Experience operating UV monitors for chromatography.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment under ISO or GMP standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer-based software.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Lab

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $20.00 - $33.90/hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
