About the Role:
A Data Testing Engineer validates data accuracy, integrity, and quality across complex pipelines, ensuring ETL processes and data warehouses function correctly.
- Quality Planning and Strategy: Developing plans and strategies to ensure quality at every stage of production.
- Code Reviews: Analysing code to suggest improvements and ensure it meets quality standards.
- Functional Testing: Conducting manual and automated tests to identify and fix bugs.
- Performance and Security Testing: Ensuring the product performs well under various conditions and is secure from vulnerabilities.
- Continuous Integration: Managing automated tests in CI/CD environments to maintain consistent quality.
- Collaboration: Working closely with developers, operations, and business teams to align quality goals with business objectives
Key Responsibilities
- Data Validation & Testing: Design and execute functional, integration, and regression tests for ETL processes, data warehouses, and data ingestion pipelines.
- SQL & Automation: Write complex SQL queries to compare source and target data; develop automated test scripts using Python, Java, or specialized tools.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness, including checking for data anomalies and verifying transformation logic.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create test plans, test cases, and documentation for defects, tracking them to resolution in tools like JIRA.
- Collaboration: Work with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and troubleshoot data issues
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improving testing processes and methodologies to enhance software quality.

Required Skills:
- 1. Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills are essential, along with experience in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Data Warehousing/Big Data: Knowledge of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and tools like Spark, Hive, Hadoop, or Azure.
- Testing Experience: Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, PyTest) and manual testing techniques.
- Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Experience Level: Typically 2–5+ years in QA or ETL testing.
- Experience GCP or any cloud technologies.
