Description

About us

Southern Cross Health Insurance is shaping a healthier Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is simple: empowering our members to live well for longer. We're here to give peace of mind through timely access to quality care, inspire healthier living, and lead positive change across the health system. As a New Zealand-owned, member-based organisation, we're building a future where wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do -- delivering exceptional value for our members and creating an environment where our people thrive.

Now is an exciting time to join us. You'll be part of a high-performing, values-driven team where people are at the heart of everything we do -- and in return for your talent, you'll have the opportunity to grow, make an impact, and be proud of the difference your work makes.

About the role

As our Sales Project Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in coordinating and driving delivery across a range of complex, cross‑functional initiatives that enhance customer outcomes and support our organisational strategy. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and strong delivery discipline to high‑priority work while partnering closely with teams across the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate delivery activity for departmental projects and enterprise remediation initiatives.

  • Drive predictable, high‑quality delivery aligned with KPIs, timelines, priorities, and compliance standards.

  • Manage cross‑team risks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery progress, ensuring early identification and resolution of blockers.

  • Enable effective delivery environments through fit‑for‑purpose planning, governance, and cadences.

  • Provide clear ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes across teams and stakeholders.

  • Engage key centres of expertise (e.g., Business Improvement, Change, Communications, Legal, Risk, Value Streams) to support successful delivery.

  • Support investigation of potential remediation issues alongside Risk, Legal, and Remediation teams.

  • Lead delivery of remediation activities through to closure, ensuring complete documentation and evidence.

About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re an organised, influential, and collaborative delivery professional who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and working across a wide range of stakeholders.

You will bring:

  • A business‑related qualification or proven experience in project delivery, customer remediation, or risk.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.

  • Broad delivery capability across project delivery, business analysis, organisational change, or governance.

  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and the ability to bridge Agile and non‑Agile environments.

  • A strong grasp of risk and risk management within regulated environments.

  • A proactive, customer‑centric approach and the ability to navigate competing priorities with confidence.

Our values — who we are and what matters to us

Ngākau nui. Āhurutanga. Tikanga.
Join a team that’s always there, always real, always true. If you thrive in a purpose‑driven, diverse, and supportive culture, we think you’ll love working with us.

What we offer you

  • Five days of wellbeing leave per year (pro‑rated for part‑timers)

  • Health insurance for you and your immediate whānau

  • Life insurance cover and discounts on pet and travel insurance

  • Extra parental leave benefits and financial wellbeing support

  • Access to our workplace wellbeing programme

But that’s not all. If you need more time to support your whānau, we offer work‑life balance, hybrid working, and an annual volunteer day for you and your team to contribute to a community cause of your choice.

We are proud to have taken the Pride Pledge, reflecting our commitment to inclusion and belonging. We also facilitate an active, employee‑led Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum, which includes our Rainbow Network, Māori Network, Pasifika Collective, and Neurodiversity and Whānau Support networks.

If you share our commitment and passion, we'd love to hear from you.
