Workforce Management:
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment for plant and office roles, including production staff, technicians, and skilled trades.
- Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to plan staffing needs and shift coverage.
- Lead onboarding, orientation, and training for new hires, with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee concerns on the shop floor.
- Support or manage union relationships (if applicable), grievance resolution, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
- Work within the safety team to enforce workplace safety standards and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping for incident reports, training logs, and regulatory audits.
- Implement performance review processes for hourly and salaried employees.
- Coach supervisors and team leads on performance management and employee development.
- Identify training needs, including cross training and upskilling of production staff.
- Maintain and enforce HR policies in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Manage attendance policies, timekeeping systems, and disciplinary procedures.
- Oversee payroll processing and benefit administration for plant employees.
- Conduct wage benchmarking for hourly and skilled roles to ensure competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and labor law compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Paycor or other similar HRIS system and Microsoft Office.
- HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
