Lead the Team That Keeps a Major Healthcare Facility Running
Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who knows building systems, solves problems quickly, and can keep a team moving in the right direction? Vanguard Resources, Inc. is actively recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Manager – Hospital environment, to support day-to-day maintenance and plant operations at Valley Baptist Medical Center – Brownsville. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong maintenance professional who is ready to take on more leadership responsibility. Healthcare regulatory compliance experience is preferred but not required! What we need is someone who understands the technical side of facility maintenance and can help keep the hospital’s systems, equipment, and maintenance team performing reliably every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead and support the daily work of the facilities maintenance team
• Help prioritize preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot building and equipment issues and help drive practical solutions
• Support the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, emergency power, and related building systems
• Monitor work orders, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment performance
• Coordinate day-to-day work with vendors, contractors, and service providers
• Help assign work, develop & coach employees, and hold the team accountable for safety, quality, and follow-through
• Partner with the Director of Facilities & Plant Operations on staffing, projects, priorities, and operational needs
• Identify recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and support hospital operations in a professional and responsive manner
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking to hire a hands-on facilities leader with strong technical knowledge and the ability to guide a team effectively. The ideal candidate may come from healthcare, commercial facilities, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, higher education, hospitality, or another complex environment.
Strong candidates will bring:
• Solid experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or building systems
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and maintenance problems
• Preventive maintenance and work-order experience
• Some supervisory, lead, or team-lead experience
• Ability to coach, organize, and support a skilled maintenance team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
• Healthcare or hospital experience is a plus, but not required
• Technical trade experience or certifications are a plus
