Job Description:

Department Overview: 

 

Wealth Credit and Market Risk Management (WCMRM) works in partnership with various Wealth businesses to mitigate risk by monitoring exposure of our portfolio and identify and resolve risk exposure for the organization.  The department is responsible for the monitoring and compliance of credit risk management policies, including discretionary loan limits, and oversees TD Wealth’s market/credit risk portfolio.

 

The mandate of the department is to mitigate risk for the organization with clear policies and processes to ensure maximum utilization of client portfolios’ margin eligibility.  The department creates awareness of our risk exposure by monitoring the level of exposure and risk in the margin, collateral lending and derivative portfolios, identifying emerging trends in our exposure based on measures of volatility (including Standard Deviations and Value at Risk) and liquidity of securities and ensuring the necessary actions are taken to control lending exposure against the higher risk securities.

 

Job Description: 

 

The Sr. Risk analyst is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining solutions to Wealth CMR using a variety of technologies and techniques.  The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for delivering high quality work operating within a strong team based environment across multiple projects.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Develop web applications using the .NET framework (ASP.NET, C#, MS SQL)
• Assist the management team migrate internally developed applications from the current Microsoft Access environment to a SQL server environment
• Document and maintain design diagrams and specifications
• Troubleshoot and provide production support for functional and performance issues
• Perform additional tasks as necessary

 

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience: 

Requirements

• Candidate should have 3+ years of professional software development experience, including:
  • Back-end development using C# and Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, querying and performance troubleshooting
  • Front-end web development using ASP.NET MVC, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS
  • Experience with source control and collaborative development practices; familiarity with Git is preferred
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, documenting and supporting business applications throughout the software development lifecycle
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to easily relate to team members and management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Knowledge of trading, capital markets or financial risk management is an asset

 

Education/Accreditations: 

 

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

 

A graduate degree in a quantitative field such as finance, statistics, economics, mathematics, physics or engineering etc. will be an asset.
