Position Summary:
The Line Supervisor serves as a hands-on leader for the packaging and containerizing team, providing direction and support to Line Operators while actively participating in daily production activities. This role is responsible for coordinating workflow, monitoring productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily packaging and containerizing operations by assigning tasks, coordinating workflow, and monitoring production activities.
- Train and mentor new and existing employees on production procedures, equipment operation, quality standards, and company policies.
- Monitor productivity and staffing levels to ensure production schedules and operational goals are achieved.
- Provide guidance and support to Line Operators while actively participating in production processes as needed.
- Communicate production priorities, expectations, and updates to team members.
- Monitor production activities to ensure products are packaged, labeled, and prepared according to company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections throughout the production process to identify and address issues.
- Maintain accurate production records, inventory documentation, and shift reports.
- Document production issues, quality concerns, and corrective actions as required.
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and proper use of PPE.
- Identify and troubleshoot production delays, equipment issues, and quality concerns.
- Recommend and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete and maintain training on assigned machines, and ensure team is operating them correctly within standard parameters.
- In collaboration with maintenance, execute changeovers using standard work to hit target time and quality on the first run.
- Resolve simple maintenance issues and escalate to Maintenance as needed for more complex issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Valid forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- 3+ years of manufacturing, production, or packaging experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role required.
- Previous experience in a chemical, packing, or industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
