American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) is seeking an upbeat, meticulous PMO Analyst to join our Project Management Office within the Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE) team.
The Technical Project Management Office (PMO) Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the PMO Lead and project teams by ensuring data integrity, and analyzing KPI metrics. This position serves as the backbone of our project management operations, enabling informed decision-making across the portfolio.
What You’ll Do
- Calculate and supervise projects’ key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule variance, cost variance, and resource efficiency and advance financial risks to leadership
- Maintain and optimize the project management information system (Jira), ensuring proper configuration, data quality, and accessibility
- Develop, implement and maintain standardized project templates (such as status dashboards, reports, and scorecards), processes, and documentation establishing and implementing consistent reporting and metrics across the portfolio
- Ensure all project data is accurate, current, and aligned with organizational standards
- Create executive-level presentations, charts, and visual analytics for leadership reviews ensuring project metrics and statuses are continuously available through dashboards and automated reports
- Track time, resource allocation, and team member utilization across all active projects
- Support the PMO Lead in implementing process improvements, tool enhancements, providing training and guidance to project teams on PMO standards and systems and finding opportunities to streamline PMO processes and improving efficiency
- Maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with organizational governance policies
- Create and maintain a centralized repository of project artifacts, lessons learned, and guidelines
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
What We’re Looking For
- Availability to work 100% onsite (Montes Urales)
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3+ years of experience in project management office, project coordination, or related role
- Advanced proficiency with Jira, Smartsheets and project management tools
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data analytics tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- PMP, CAPM, or similar certification preferred, Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience with portfolio management and multi-project environments
- Financial competence and budget management experience
- Experience with process automation and workflow optimization
