Description
Working as a member of the Admissions Department, the Lead Development and Strategy Manager is responsible for the recruitment, engagement, and matriculation of qualified prospective students. This position provides strategic leadership in planning and implementing admissions communications and recruitment initiatives, and coordinates closely with other institutional partners to ensure consistent, effective messaging. This person oversees admissions communications and engagement efforts that support recruitment, yield, and student retention, including the strategic use and optimization of CRM platforms and related technologies. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, this person develops and advances innovative, data-informed, and student-centered recruitment and admissions strategies that support the law school’s enrollment goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy and Enrollment Pipeline Management
- Develop and implement recruitment and yield strategies to achieve enrollment goals for the JD program, with particular emphasis on the Hybrid JD program.
- Analyze recruitment, application, and enrollment trends to assess the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives and recommend adjustments to improve enrollment outcomes.
- Identify and cultivate prospective student pipelines through outreach initiatives, recruiting events, information sessions, and campus visits.
- Collaborate with Admissions leadership and team to evaluate recruitment effectiveness and adjust strategies based on enrollment priorities.
- Represent the law school at recruitment events nationwide and travel as needed to support enrollment initiatives.
- Counsel prospective students throughout the recruitment process and provide individualize guidance regarding admissions and the Hybrid JD program.
Marketing, Communications, and CRM Management
- Develop and Implement communication plans for prospective students using Slate CRM, UNITE, and other communication platforms.
- Collaborate with LSAC, university marketing staff, and third-party vendors to support digital advertising and lead generation initiatives.
- Prepare marketing content for websites, digital advertising, print materials, and recruitment communications.
- Monitor recruitment communications to ensure consistent messaging and an effective prospective student experience.
Admissions Review and Enrollment Management
- Review applications for admission in accordance with university policies, ABA standards, and LSAC best practices.
- Prepare admissions and scholarship recommendations that support enrollment goals.
- Communicate admissions decisions and work proactively with admitted students to address questions and encourage enrollment.
- Coordinate admissions events and yield initiatives designed to increase enrollment among admitted students.
Professional Service and Institutional Support
- Represent the Admissions Office on university, law school, and professional committees.
- Participate in professional organizations including LSAC and the ABA to remain current on admissions best practices and trends.
- Support additional admissions initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree.
- Three plus years of experience in higher education, marketing, or a communication field.
Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in educational counseling or administration.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Ability to travel during recruiting season (fall).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of SLATE CRM and Workday, an enterprise management system.
- Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation Pay Range:
