Advisor, Product ManagementWhat does a successful Product Management Advisor do at Fiserv?
We are looking for an experienced Product Management Advisor to help drive the strategy, roadmap and delivery of our Card Services API and developer platform. In this role you will own product areas across the card and payments lifecycle, turn client and market needs into clear requirements, and partner closely with engineering, design, sales and clients to ship products that create measurable value. The ideal candidate combines strong product judgement with a solid understanding of payments, APIs and data, and has a track record of delivering software products in a fast-paced product organization.
What you will do:
- Own the product roadmap for assigned areas of the Card Services API and developer portal, from opportunity through launch and adoption.
- Translate client, market and business needs into clear product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritize the backlog using data, client impact and business value, and defend trade-off decisions with stakeholders.
- Partner daily with engineering and design in an agile setup to plan sprints, remove blockers and keep delivery on track.
- Work with API and developer experience to improve documentation, onboarding journeys and self-service for developer and business users.
- Define success metrics, instrument products and use adoption and usage data to guide the next set of decisions.
- Support go-to-market with sales, marketing and client teams through positioning, demos, enablement and pricing inputs.
- Act as a subject matter advisor on card and surroundings product capabilities for internal teams and clients.
- Look beyond the written brief: proactively spot process gaps, propose improvements and raise the bar for how the team plans, builds and ships.
What you will need to have:
- 8-10 years of experience in product management or a closely related product role in a software or technology organization.
- Hands on experience managing API based or platform products, including working with API specifications and developer facing capabilities.
- Working knowledge of the cards, payments, and surroundings financial services domain.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to frame problems, size opportunities and measure outcomes.
- Experience with agile delivery and common product tools such as Jira, Confluence and roadmap or analytics tooling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence stakeholders across levels and geographies.
- A strong sense of ownership and the drive to go beyond the job description: someone who takes initiative, challenges the status quo and continuously looks for ways to improve the product and the process.
- Soft skills that make teams better: collaboration, adaptability, curiosity, a bias for action and the resilience to keep delivering in a fast changing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field.
What would be great to have:
- Experience with card issuing, processing or the Fiserv / payments ecosystem.
- Exposure to developer portals, API productization or platform monetization.
- Familiarity with data driven product practices such as A/B testing and product analytics.
- A track record of leading process or ways-of-working improvements that lifted team productivity or product quality.
- MBA or equivalent product or business qualification.
