The Business Development Officer is responsible for the development of division sales, marketing collateral, marketing campaigns, prospecting, developing and maintenance of commercial customers of the Specialty Finance Division. Additionally, this individual is responsible for trade show and conference marketing.
What You'll Do
- Develops marketing strategy and plan with leadership.
- Creates marketing collateral that supports the objectives of the department.
- Creates and executes prospecting campaigns targeting our commercial customers.
- Schedules and coordinates trade show and conference activities.
- Develops, builds and maintains customer satisfaction levels through relationship management.
- Develops, builds and executes surveys to provide consistent feedback of our customers.
- Coordinates closing and recording of leases with originators.
- Ensures that all customer service calls, internal and external, are responded to in a timely manner.
- Provides coverage to team leader as needed.
- Acts as liaison with lenders, loan accounting officers and specialists, customers and other outside agencies.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
- Processes, solves and answers difficult customer transactions, problems or inquiries.
- Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems within given authority.
- Answers direct, telephonic or email questions from clients and staff and directs callers to proper Bank personnel when necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

Qualifications
- Ten or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in Administration and documentation and supervisory skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and all customers.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure of high volumes;
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and accept change willingly.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Strong relationship development and management skills
- The willingness to support all members of the team
- Advanced knowledge of laws and regulations governing lending including but not limited to fair lending, privacy and RESPA.
- Ability to effectively train and instruct others
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for one or more employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of human resource and labor laws and policies.
- Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities; directing junior staff members towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems).
- Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision while performing duties.

Compensation
The estimated salary for this role is $125,000 along with eligibility to earn comission. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
