Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team in Cape Town. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, including sample preparation, conducting tests and experiments, and maintaining lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples for testing by following established procedures and protocols
• Conduct various tests and experiments using specialized equipment and instruments
• Record and analyze data accurately and efficiently
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
• Assist in the development and implementation of new testing methods and procedures
• Collaborate with other lab staff and researchers to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
• Keep detailed records of all work performed and results obtained
• Comply with all safety and environmental regulations and protocols

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and protocols
• Willingness to learn new techniques and procedures
• Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekend or evening work
