Your role and responsibilities
At ABB we are expanding our EMEA Cash Management Center of Expertise (CoE)! We are looking for a new colleague complementing our Rotterdam-based team to manage the Cash Management operations of all European, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA) entities.
This is a high visibility, high-impact role that services all of ABB’s divisions via best-in-class Cash Management structures, including our global In-House bank that pays, collects, receives on behalf of local entities.
Reporting to the Operations Manager of the EMEA Center of Expertise of Corporate Treasury based in Rotterdam, Netherlands
You will be mainly accountable for:
Liquidity & Funding Management
- Decide on adequate liquidity levels on country level and ensure timely execution of payment cycles
- Be responsible for the liquidity needs for all EMEA region & Holding entities, managing also restricted countries and non-pooled bank accounts.
- Monitor and adapt short-term financing strategies based on evolving business needs.
Global In-House Bank Operations
- Manage the globally operating In-House Bank: Payments, Collections, Receipts on behalf of ABB entities
- Oversee cash pool management, including disposition for investments and participant monitoring.
- Decide on and steer the operative fund flows through the Inhouse Bank Continuously optimize the In-House Bank framework and structure (cash allocation rules, interest rates, entity participation).
High Value, High Urgency Payments
- Regularly execute high-value transactions such as M&A closings, dividend payments to all shareholders, and capital injections.
- Manage the liquidity of the global share buyback program and other critical financial operations.
- Oversee groupwide netting processes, including also all cashless settlements.

Qualifications for the role
- University degree (Bachelor) in Finance, Banking or Accounting.
- One to two years of professional experience in treasury function including currency exposure management, cash management, risk management, and financial analysis.
- Background on cash and liquidity management operations such as cash pools, in-house bank and Inter Company Netting.
- A fundamental understanding in payments infrastructure.
- Adequate analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively adhere to strict deadlines
- Team Player, proactive mind-set, adaptable to dynamic multicultural environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus.
